At Clare, our number one priority has always been the safety of our customers and their homes. This project page highlights some of the new features added to the security panel interface in 2021. Our team continues to evolve all interfaces which is why all these projects are ongoing.
My role on this project started as the Lead UX Designer conducting user research and creating all user flows leading to high fidelity UI designs. I work as both a UX Designer adding new features and a Product Designer when redesigning features for the security panel. As a bilingual, and aspiring trilingual, my team often comes to me for any new translation string codes necessary for all of our interfaces. I am fluent in writing and speaking in Spanish, and currently learning French. As of 2021, these are two of the additional languages which our platforms currently support as we have a strong Spanish speaking and French Canadian speaking user base.
A thorough competitive analysis report was performed on all security panel interfaces on the market. During this research we not only discovered some parallels but also where we wanted to exceed the expectations of our users. In addition to the competitive research, we also had to perform research on the security panel codes to ensure that any new security UI mockups would meet the standards for liability purposes.
Ongoing communication with the stakeholders and developers was key to delivering the best outcome. In a virtual work from home environment these days, our team thrives on using tools such as Jira, Figma comments, and Microsoft teams to maintain all communications regarding any works in progress.
One of the most important details about working at Clare is ensuring all UI is coordinated across all of our different platforms. One practice I started while working at Clare was getting ahead of the tasks and designing all UI for all platforms even if stakeholders had not requested this yet. As a designer and product designer, I understood from grooming meetings that these features would eventually be released across all of our platforms including the Dealer facing configuration website, iOS devices, Android devices and the security panel interface.
